Those are the words that did it.

At 3pm on a Friday afternoon, these words rung out in my classroom. I was teaching an environmental science class in an international school in Germany, and one of my students made this proclamation out of frustration.

He wasn't frustrated with me...He was frustrated with the state of the world.I racked my brain for an example to counter his argument. 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds...

Those 3 seconds are when Evolve was born. That's when I decided to be the example, not talk about it.Those 3 seconds changed my life, and launched a brand that isn't just working towards sustainability - we're built on it.

I'm Wayne, and I am the founder of Evolve Travel Goods. I grew up in sunny Sydney, where I would spend every spare second camping, surfing, and SCUBA diving up and down Australia's eastern coast. It was a rigorous test for any of the things I owned, and I soon learned what makes for great adventure gear.

Since then, I've worked as an Environmental Science teacher in International schools around the world.  I've travelled to 40+ countries, working on environmentalism and science with high school students in schools on 3 different continents. My vacations are spent exploring the world, while during the school term I spend my days educating young people on environmental issues and inspiring them to take action.

Though if I'm honest with myself, it's really my student's passion that has inspired me. On a daily basis, I witness their shock at the current state of the environment and their horror at the world which they are inheriting. I hear their outrage and their passion, and this has inspired an idea which, with the help of some talented and supportive people, has turned into Evolve.

As so often happens in the classroom, the roles have reversed and now my students are inspiring ME to take action.

Evolve is my action. More than a brand, Evolve is a way to protect the world which my students and I love so dearly; our playground and our home. It is a path forward for those of you who, like me, love to travel but hate the environmental destruction they witness along the way. That's why all of our products are made with the most sustainable materials we can find. This is not the easiest, nor the cheapest option, but from our perspective it is the best option. 

We're not doing things the easy way. We're doing them the right way.

We're not working towards sustainability - it's in our DNA.

I hope that Evolve can inspire my students, in the same way that they have inspired me. After all, saving our planet is going to require exactly that: Inspiration.
